We exist to hold families up when the unthinkable happens.
Love from the Sky Foundation was created to fill the gap that grief leaves behind — not just the emotional void, but the very real, practical weight that falls on families who have lost a child.
We believe that every bereaved family deserves compassionate support — financial relief in their most vulnerable moments, a lasting place to honor their child's memory, and healing experiences that remind them they are not alone.
Our programs are built with care, offered free to qualifying families, and designed to meet people exactly where they are.

On September 12, 2023, founder Janell Thomas experienced the unimaginable — the loss of her 10-year-old son, Christopher "Munch" Bolden Jr., one day after celebrating his birthday.
Life changed forever. As Janell began navigating life after the loss of her son, she found herself learning what so many bereaved parents are forced to learn: how to keep living while carrying a grief that becomes a permanent part of you.
Then, only months later, tragedy struck another mom. On January 1, 2024, Tiffany Falden lost her daughter to gun violence. Their shared experience of losing their children created a deeper connection between Janell and Tiffany.
As they moved through their individual grief, their bond grew stronger. There were conversations, tears, memories, and difficult days that did not require explanation — because each understood something about the other's pain that few people could.
That connection also opened their eyes to a greater need. If they needed understanding, connection, and a safe space, they knew other mothers did too. There were parents trying to navigate the same unimaginable reality who needed compassion, resources, and community — places where they could speak freely about their children, where their grief did not make others uncomfortable, and where their children's names and memories continued to matter.
Through her grief, and through the bonds formed along the way, Janell became certain of one thing: she needed to help other families. And from that certainty, Love from the Sky Foundation was born.
